Hi my name is Bec & welcome to Dog Manners Sydney!

A bit about me:
Dogs are my passion, they have been my whole life. I grew up in a family that bred, cared for & raised Border Collies. As a teenager I still could not get enough, volunteering at vets, horse ranches and fostering dogs of all shapes and sizes. As my passion grew I started a job as a Vet nurse completing my Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. During my career as a vet nurse my employer noticed that I had more of a heart for making animals comfortable and supporting the behavioural needs of animals rather than the surgical side. Dr Kay Pitkeathly at Menai Animal Hospital supported me and put me through my first qualification to become a canine behaviouralist and for that I will be forever grateful.
Moving forward to today Dog Manners Sydney has become a house hold name! Offering classes through veterinary clinics and doggy daycares in the area and supported and recommended by many Vets, pet stores, groomers, doggy daycares and amazing clients that I would not be where I am today without!

What we do here at Dog Manners:
Statistically, the number one reason for euthanasia of house hold dogs in Australia is unwanted behaviours?
​
In 2016 whilst at a training conference I was informed of the above statistic and it shook my perception of the companion animal world. From that moment I knew I wanted to do everything I could to change that statistic.
​
Here at Dog Manners Sydney we commit to continuous study, attending courses and conferences to stay up to date with the most modern, scientific based methods to help both you and your dog.

We use positive, force free, science based methodology to work with both you and your dog to get you both to a happy, loving, trouble free relationship.

We believe in the personal touch and doing whatever we can to help you achieve the perfect relationship between you and your dog. All of our behavioural plans are completely customised to suit your circumstances and ideals, taking into account your busy schedule and lifestyle. Our training programs are also variable, from bulk programs to step by step guides, we do our best to cater to both you and your dogs needs.
"A month ago I had a cheeky, over-excited, ill-mannered little pug that was adorable, but a bit embarrassing and over the top. After just 5 minutes with Bec he was sitting on a mat and focused! Completely amazing for Wynstan to sit still! After just a few lessons Wynstan is a completely changed little man. He could almost think his new nickname is "good boy". Bec is so easy to get along with, she gives so many tips and tricks on how we as owners can understand our dogs better. What a joy it was today to welcome Rebecca into our home to meet our dogs today, she educated me on so many things and has created a feeling of hope that my beautiful dogs can be trained and live harmoniously together after some intense difficulties with them recently.

Five stars are not nearly enough. How about ten to infinity? Over many decades we have done several puppy training classes. Bec is enormously qualified (many trainers aren't) and is a superb and natural teacher of both canines AND humans. (That last is pretty important, lol!) Her love of dogs as well as her knowledge and understanding of them are abundant. Her classes are wonderfully fun and engaging.
Definitely the "Go To" person for understanding and training your dog.
